  I worked for Hillary Clinton’s 2016 US presidential election campaign. It was so interesting to see how important strategic decisions were made using statistics / data, and how data science can have a huge, immediate impact on the world!

  I used to work on brain injury, and some of the researchers I was working with discovered that 15% of people we thought we unconscious, were actually still conscious. These people were basically ‘trapped in their own bodies’. Yet once we communicated with them, many thought that their lives were still ok. This surprised me a lot, that people could still be happy, even after losing so many of their abilities.
