      Hello !

I personally do not think that this can be a problem. AI has no kind of magic inside it, it is purely designed by human, and programmed to do exactly what it has been told. Any existing machine can be considered as an AI: railway engines, computers, softwares. These can crash, bug or become obsolete, but it would never happen that they would do some clever thing they are not intended too. As far as I am concern, I think it is a fantasy (common in current books or movies e.g. Matrix right?) that one day human would even desire to create a machine with the specific emotions that could lead to a rebellion. In other words, the machines that exist are only the one we want to exist, and as long as we do not desire self-destruction there should not be any trouble of this kind.

Although note that we are really far from being technologically able to design such intelligent machines.

Still, related questions like ethics of AI and where and when use it are crucial. Basically, there are many techniques/ algorithms/ models in AI that appear every day and are integrated more and more in health care systems, in military softwares, in education, and in many other important fields. It is important to keep in mind what role should be played by the machine and to evaluate carefully the risks that a given technological progress could bring. But this is a concern about all kinds of technological progress rather than only about AI.
